I'm Andy, loved everything to do with films since a small child, been collecting films and movie posters for the last 20 years. I used to work at a cinema in my student days and the love for movies got bigger and bigger. As you can tell by my Avatar, I'm a big De Niro fanatic and also have great admiration for Martin Scorsese.
Enjoy!

First off, I can't wait 'till we get that member list filled up and get some discussions going!
What can I say about myself? I like movies and the nostalgia of actually going to the theater. Even though this can be quickly ruined by a bunch of punk 12 year olds who think it's hilarious to talk on their cell phones and flick cigarette lighters while I'm trying to enjoy a movie.
But that's why I have a nice little entertainment setup at home, so I don't necessarily have to go out to really "experience" movies. A 50" plasma makes this possible.
Like Mr. Pennock, I collect posters, though I definitely have not been doing it for as long as him, so I tip my hat to Tom and his expertise.
I look forward to posting and have high hopes for this forum!

I also dabble in collecting movie posters. No where near the level of some the guys that have posted above me. But it's a great hobby and I love every minute of it.

I've been collecting movie posters for almost 20 years now. I've had the extreme privilege of not having to actually pay for movies since I could remember since my family/friends of family have managed the local theaters for all time. The first movie I remember seeing is E.T., still a favorite of mine. I also usually watch the films before they are officially released (sneak Previews), I'm a theater rat...
I'm really looking forward to discussing all sorts of stuff with you guys here and new ones that join. Thanks again Andy!!!

I've had a long-time career in the computer industry and retired early, but after a few years, I thought I try another line of work in law enforcement. Currently, I work as mobile patrol security and drive an armored car, but it's tough right now to break in as a policeman with all the cut backs. While I was retired, I've tried my hand in the movie business, too, as a screen writer, but that's even more difficult to break into. I know a few people in the industry and they're struggling, but a few have made it.
I'm a collector, too, and collect movie posters and art.

films i saw in the 70s were starwars.bugsy malone, grease and many many others too, that i cant recall right now.
In my town we had a cinema, where i saw plenty of films in my youth, raiders of the lost ark,the fox and the hound, petes dragon, the black hole, buck rogers in the 21st century, wargames, watership down, police academy, bmx bandits rocky4 gremlins ghostbusters, commando, mad max 2 mad max 3,rambo firstblood part 2,and tons more,my local cinema is a thirties art deco building which now stands empty, and was a night club, and its this place which set me off in my love of films, the last film i saw there was the iron giant, just before it closed.
and its there that i started to collect my 1st posters, long since dissapeared, alien 3 was my fave one,but i had freejack, the addams family,JFK mad max 3.
i always loved horror films and i discovered frightfest film festival in 2005 and in 2007 i attended my 1st film festival and that hooked me into attending more film events, and i write for the site too.

I'm Daz a long-ago colleague of Goodfellas on another forum.
Love film and my partner is a film obsessive. Love sci-fi, war and gangster movies as well as the usual classics. Thinking about it I'm a bit embarrased now I didn't put any Kubrik into my top 10.....looking forward to hearing from y'all.

I'm Mark. I had a huge poster of Freddy Kreuger once, and have an obsession with horror films and metal music. I love film but feel a fraud as I can actually say I have never seen Star Wars all the way through... just clips...
Dont get out as much as I would like to the cinema due to the kids so I have to catch most things on DVD ... but I do have the benefit of being a reviewer, so I get to see quite a few I wouldnt normally have picked... but this week I am off to see Drag Me To Hell.
so Hello from me.

Absolutely fantastic to have you here, feel quite honored in fact.
For anyone that doesn't know. Aitch has been an actor for many years and has appeared in Star Wars (as Death Star Trooper) and Mc Vicar to name a few. I'm sure you won't mind me sharing your website Aitch!?
