'the damned united' absolutely brilliant stuff. I have the book by david peace so far unread, i may give that a go now.Great performances by michael sheen (clough), colm meaney (don revie), timothy spall (peter taylor), and stephen graham (billy bremner).

Just finished watching 2 flicks - "Once Upon a time in Mexico" and "Trainspotting"
And yes, I do realize I am way behind the times...
Honestly don't understand all the hype behind Trainspotting though. Really didn't think it was all that great. But once again, I know I have bad taste when it comes to... well... everything...

'trainspotting' what a brilliant brit pop soundtrack, with a touch of lou reed and iggy pop. nobody involved in the film, behind or in front of the camera, has done anything better since (including 'slumdog').

I just watched "The Secret Window" Johhny Depp

Must say I was quite dissapointed, reminded me very much of "Hide and Seek" Robert De Niro - Same format and ironically the film was about copying a script lol

Had the same feeling after watching it. I just had this "bluhh" feeling after watching it. Almost like a "who cares / you just wasted my time" kind of mentality.

'Adventureland' absolutely loved it, like a rehash of 'American Graffitti' set in the 80s, and over the course of the summer holidays rather than over one night, with , an exquisite soundtrack. Followed by 'Antichrist' from one extreme to the other......i managed about 40 minutes, just imagine being shackled and  having your toenails removed, very slowly, by blunt pliars, that's probably how it felt having to sit through it.

I watched Appaloosa last night.  It was fairly well done, but with a cast of Ed Harris, Vigo Mortensen, Renee Zellweger, and Jeremy Irons, I felt it should have been a lot better.  It dragged at points, and used too many western cliches for my taste.  If you are a fan of westerns, it it worth a watch.  If not, I'd say skip it and move on to The Proposition, Unforgiven, Open Range, or Broken Trail for modern westerns.

I have to agree. This is definitely a one-timer for me as well. Although it had more excitement in it than the original film did. 3:10 to Yuma was a much better remake of a western that came out the year before Appaloosa.

I just finished Lonesome Dove for the 5th or 6th time.  It is without a doubt in my top 5 all time Westerns, and I have seen a lot of westerns.  The cast is something to behold.........

Robert Duvall
Tommy Lee Jones
Diane Lane
Chris Cooper
Anjelica Huston
Danny Glover
Barry Corbin
DB Sweeney
Steve Buscemi
Rick Schroeder

I mean holy sh!t, this is a TV mini-series we are talking about.  I remember in 1989 when it was on TV being upset that my household TV's were fixed on it when I wanted to watch double dare reruns or some such.  Now I understand why.

LOL, I remember Double Dare. Yeah, fortunately when I grew up my mother was big on westerns so I ended up watching a lot of the Eastwood stuff when I was younger and Lonesome Dove was part of the mix. I grew up watching Bananza, the Rifleman, the Big Valley, among other TV westerns.

I just watched Moon on blu-ray.  Great movie!  In my opinion, it is the best sci-fi since Children of Men.

I watched "Doubt" with Meryl Streep and Phillip Seymour Hoffman...very good acting but slightly dull...but I guess the subject matter called for that dullness...either way wonderful acting...
